  • I inherited jewelry from a loved one, what can I do with it?"
There are many different options we can explore! I'm happy to assist clients with sifting through a jewelry collection to give you an idea of what is made of precious materials, and what is considered costume. If you love the pieces as they are, we can lovingly refurbish them so you can wear and enjoy them for years to come! Not quite your style? We can repurpose the diamonds and gemstones from existing pieces to create a unique piece of jewelry you'll love wearing! Interested in selling? We would love to make an offer!
  • What does the design process look like?
Great question! We like to meet with clients to zero in on the details of what they're after. Spending more time on this process allows us to deliver exactly what a client is envisioning. You can expect questions like: Do you have heirloom diamonds or gemstones you would like to incorporate? What does your lifestyle look like? (Sometimes, certain styles don't match certain lifestyles) What type of metal would you like to use? Have you seen styles you like? Do you have a budget you'd like respected? Once we've zeroed in on all the details, we can get to work designing the perfect piece of jewelry for you! I ask for a $100 non-refundable deposit to start creating renderings. That $100 deposit is applied to the total purchase price when we've designed the perfect piece of jewelry! Once we've got the right design, I ask for 50% down to start fabrication with the remaining 50% due upon completion.
  • How long does it take to design a piece of custom jewelry?
Time frames will vary depending on current work load, and the intricacy of your project. Renderings are generally available for your review within a week of your consultation, and you can usually expect about a week for any revisions you would like made. Once renderings are approved, the fabrication process is between 4-6 weeks.
  • What kind of repairs do you offer?
In short... All of them! Re-tipping prongs Tightening loose stones Replacing missing stones Ring sizing Rhodium plating Soldering of broken chains Replacing missing earring backs And more!
  • How much does it cost to size a ring?
This is one of the most common questions I receive! To get an accurate quote, it's always best to schedule a no obligation consultation as there are many factors that influence the price of ring resizing. Here are some factors that influence the price of resizing: What material is the ring made of? (Sterling silver, white gold, rose gold, yellow gold, platinum etc) Are we sizing up or down? Is the ring soldered to another ring? How wide is the ring? Are there diamonds and/or gemstones set into the ring? It's also important to make sure you're sized properly for the new fit of your ring!
  • What is the turnaround time for jewelry repair?
Generally we allow two weeks for repair work to be completed. There are, however, certain repairs that may take more time depending on their complexity. Need a repair faster? Depending on what needs to be done, we may be able to offer expedited service for an additional fee.
  • What do you buy?
Just about everything! We purchase: Gold (coins, bullion, jewelry, scrap and dental gold) Silver (coins, bullion, silverware and jewelry) Platinum (coins, bullion and jewelry) Diamonds (lab grown, and natural) Yogo sapphires
  • What don't you buy?
Western Montana Sapphires (cut or rough) Gold plated items Gold filled items Costume jewelry Watches (unless they're a big brand name like Rolex, Omega etc. or they're precious metal)
  • I have an appraisal for the item I'd like to sell. Can I expect to sell it for the appraised value?
Unfortunately, no. An appraisal for insurance replacement purposes is very different from a fair market value. When we're purchasing from the public, we have to make sure that we can't source a similar item from one of our manufacturers for less. There's really no "formula" for what percentage of appraised value you can expect. The best thing to do is schedule a consultation to have us take a look at the piece and make an offer. All consultations are free, and there's no obligation to sell to us!
  • Do you offer financing?
We don't... We have looked into offering financing, and the cost to do so just doesn't make sense. For clients interested in financing, we recommend searching for credit card options that have the longest interest free period. This will allow clients to break their purchase down into smaller bite sized pieces. Some great resources for comparing credit card options are: www.bankrate.com www.nerdwallet.com We are not an affiliate with either of the sites, and we don't receive any kickbacks if you decide to use their comparison tools. They've just proven to be a helpful resource for our clients. Something to note: Once you're approved for a new credit card, it generally takes a few weeks to receive the card. Be sure to take that into account when you're planning your timeframe!
  • What types of payment do you accept?
Credit/debit Cash Check Venmo Zelle CashApp Wire transfer ACH
  • Is everything due up front?
We ask for payment in full at the time of purchase on diamonds or gemstones that we source for clients. For custom jewelry design, we ask for half down to get the project started with the remaining balance due upon completion. On large repair jobs, we may request 50% down to get work started.
